Since August 2019, the Center for Teacher Education and Subject Didactics (ZLF) has been participating in the Lehramt.international program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with the global.trex Passau project. Global.trex Passau is one of 19 pilot projects across Germany, now 38, which aims to internationalize teacher training courses and increase the mobility of student teachers.
Following the successful completion of the first project phase in December 2022, global.trex Passau was extended until December 2024. Until the end of the project period, global.trex will promote and further develop both teaching-specific subject and practice-related stays abroad as well as the intercultural and language skills of student teachers at home. The aim is to prepare prospective teachers for international diversity and cultural diversity in heterogeneous classrooms and for teaching in a globally networked world.
In the global.trex Passau project, the following goals are specified for project phase II on the basis of what has been achieved so far:
