The Teacher Placement Office is responsible for planning, organising and participating in the delivery of placements for students on the teacher education programmes for primary and secondary schools (Grundschule and Mittelschule), in agreement with the school supervisory authorities and the placement schools and, within the University, with the educational sciences and the subject didactics. We allocate the places to the placement schools. We are also responsible for recognising suitable placements as equivalent to standard placements. Quality management and quality development in this area likewise fall within our remit.

As a graduate of the University of Passau and a passionate teacher with more than ten years of professional experience, it is a pleasure for me to have been working as a Mittelschule mentor at the University of Passau since September 2025.
My aim is to support all students who are interested in teaching at the german Mittelschule – regardless of the stage they are at.
