International summer schools provide an excellent chance to blend theoretical learning with hands-on experiences while engaging in transcultural dialogue with students and faculty from universities around the world.
We live in a time of multiple crises and profound societal change – an age of uncertainty that challenges the way we think about education. These ecological, political, social, and economic transformations shape not only what we do as teachers and researchers but also how we understand and define our role(s). In 2015, the United Nations adopted the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” aiming to ensure that people everywhere can live with dignity. (Future) teachers have a crucial role in implementing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and equipping younger generations to face the challenges of an ever-changing world.
We will critically reflect on our school systems and discuss what it means to be a teacher in a changing educational environment – and what this implies for teacher education today.
The summer school is open to teacher education students from our partner institutions and from the University of Passau.
